Support Coordination

Implementing an NDIS plan can be like piecing together a puzzle (confusing and stressful). Your Local Area Coordinators – LAC (NDIS Partner) can help you to understand, access your plan, implement, and review your plan, and can also provide assistance throughout your plan if you have any questions. However, some people may have a Support Coordinator funded in their plan to “strengthen their ability to connect and coordinate with a range of more complex informal, mainstream and funded supports” due to the complexities of their support needs. Not everyone gets funded for Support Coordination in their NDIS plan. You are recommended to discuss about your eligibility at your NDIS planning meeting, if you think you need funding for Support Coordination in your plan

What is Support Coordination?

It can include initial assistance with linking participants with the right providers to meet their needs, assistance to source providers, coordinating a range of supports both funded and mainstream and building on informal supports, resolving points of crisis, parenting training and developing participant resilience in their own network and community.’
